OQO has released e2, an UMPC

OQO has released e2, an ultra-mobile portable computer that includes HSDPA mobile broadband capabilities, running on Windows Vista for European and Asian consumers.

This latest ultra-mobile portable computer delivers high-speed connectivity and has been developed to match the needs of international demand for anytime/anywhere computing.

A pocketable and ergonomic form factor ensures access to the Internet and networked PC applications through UMTS/HSDPA at 2100MHz, and is downward compatible with GPRS/EDGE networks at 900MHz and 1800MHz. It supports up to 3.6 Mbps.

The e2 model comes with a SIM-free and network unlocked function for users to enjoy maximum flexibility in choosing their preferred wireless operator and data plan. Consumers can choose any one connectivity options from tri-band wide-area wireless, WiFi 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth 2.0.

The 5.6-inch e2 weighs just about a pound and runs on a 1.6 Ghz VIA processor and features hard drives up to 120GB in size.
